About this project.
As a graphic designer language is one of your main tools to communicate an idea. When I say language I mean the definition of the words in itself, but also the way the words are placed, the form and the symbolism words can have. All these things influence the way the message is received. Perhaps because of the design the words means all of a sudden something else. In my thesis (which was a part of my graduation) I focus on the the relationship between language, typography and readability. How do they influence each other?
After the writing was finished, the design part of my thesis started. I basically divided the content into three parts: there is text, there are images and there are quotes. I have made three little booklets of the three parts, which youn can fold into one large book. You can read these three books seperately but also together. When the book is folded out, the booklet in the middle is the 'main' text. This booklet contains references to the booklet on the left with the images in it, and the booklet on the right with the quotes.
